KARACHI – After PTI Chairman Imran Khan and other party leaders were shot at during a long march near Wazirabad on Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Shairf ordered an investigation.

One protester was hurt when a shooter opened fire close to Imran Khan’s container while the PTI demonstration was advancing into Islamabad.

Among those hurt in the incident are Umar Dar, Ahmed Chattah, and PTI politician Faisal Javed. In Wazirabad, all the injured were taken to a hospital for treatment, and according to reports, Khan was sent to Lahore. The PTI leader was shot twice, twice in each leg.

Police have in the meantime detained suspected armed males at the scene and moved them to an undisclosed location for questioning.

The incident has been denounced by the prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, who also asked interior minister Rana Sanaullah to submit a report on the matter. After a shooting at the PTI long march, PM Shehbaz ordered an investigation.
