Between Sukkur and Karachi, the Sindh government intends to operate a bullet train.
When discussing the bullet train, Sindh’s Minister of Transport Sharjeel Memon stated that “it will initially be introduced on the Karachi-Hyderabad route.”
The Sindh government is preparing to build a bullet train that will run from Karachi to Sukkur, Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon recently said. The hours of travel between the two cities will significantly increase once this train is introduced.
The proposals were discussed with representatives of the World Bank during a discussion about the Yellow Line BRT in Karachi. Several other ministry employees attended the meeting in addition to the transport minister and the World Bank delegation.
Speaking to the World Bank delegation, Sharjeel Memon stated that they require support from the organisation as they prepare to start construction on the Karachi-Sukkur bullet train project and upgrade Karachi’s transportation infrastructure.
Sharjeel Memon provided additional information regarding the plans of the Sindh government, stating that the bullet train will initially be constructed between Karachi and Hyderabad and will eventually be expanded.
The transport minister asked the World Bank to provide 300 electric buses for the People’s Bus Service project in Karachi in addition to helping to build the bullet train.
Pakistan is currently receiving high-quality electric buses from China. According to information, China is supposed to give Pakistan 446 high-speed buses, 230 of which are on their way to Karachi in the next few weeks.
When they arrive, Pakistan Railway will receive the buses and deliver them to the specified location.
