San Francisco: On Wednesday, days before his acrimonious acquisition of the firm must be finalised, Elon Musk renamed his Twitter profile to “Chief Twit” and tweeted a video of himself entering the social network’s California headquarters while carrying a sink.

“Entering Twitter HQ – let it sink in,” the video’s billionaire Tesla CEO captioned it. The San Francisco offices of Twitter were listed as his additional address.

Although it is unclear if Musk met with anyone at Twitter, he is reportedly working with the organisation to finalise the on-again, off-again $44 billion acquisition.

Musk faces a contract trial if the transaction isn’t finalised by Friday.

He made an unsolicited approach to buy Twitter, reached an agreement in April, and then tried to back out of the transaction. To make him adhere to it, Twitter launched a lawsuit.

The erratic millionaire gave in as a trial approached and revived his takeover proposal on the condition that legal actions be suspended.

Since a judge halted litigation on October 6, Musk, the richest man in the world, has apparently been setting up finance.

The business has denied Musk’s claims that it deceived him about the quantity of false “bot” accounts when he announced in July that he was ending the agreement.

Twitter responded by attempting to show that Musk was inventing justifications for leaving because he had changed his mind.

Musk expressed his excitement on the Twitter scenario during a recent Tesla earnings call.

Although I and the other investors are clearly overpaying for Twitter at the moment, I believe it to be an asset that has long lain dormant but has enormous potential.
