EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR PROFESSIONALS

Punjab Power Management Unit <PPMU) Energy Department, Government of the Punjab, an equal opportunity organization, invites applications from suitable candidates, domiciled in Punjab, on contract basis, for the following posts:

1.    Project Director (1 Post). Age: (Min: 42 Max: 58 years). Pay: Rs. 1,31,157/- (lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-20 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    M.Sc. in Civil, Hydro Power or Construction Management from a recognized university.

■    General experience of more than 20 years of planning, design, construction, operation and monitoring of Projects on rivers and canals including Hydro Power Projects including relevant experience of 8 years of Planning/ Designing and Construction Management of Hydro Power Projects.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Financial Management of the Foreign funded projects.

•    Implementation of projects executed under FIDIC/ World Bank. ADB conditions/ guidelines.

•    Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/ IEE) and Resettlement issues relating to Hydro Power projects and Donor’s requirements.

■    Officers of Government Department may also compete.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

2.    Director Procurement/ Contracts. (1 post). Age: (Min: 37 Max: 55 years). Pay: Rs. 1,10,505/- (lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-19 (In case of appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Engineering from a recognized university.

■    General Experience of 15 years in contract administration, planning and construction of Civil Engineering or Hydro Power Projects including 5 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Dispute resolutions and related process under the EPC/ Turnkey and other FIDIC conditions of contracts including Contractors claims, process of DRB or Arbitration.

•    Procurement under ADB. World Bank and other international Donors guidelines conditions.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

3.    Director Finance (1 Post). Age: (Min: 37 Max: 55 years). Pay: Rs.1,10,505/- (lump sum) per month, with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-19 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    Chartered Accountant or MBA Finance or ICMA from a recognized University.

■    General Experience of 15 years in accounting and budgeting including 5 years relevant experience for foreign funded/ ADB projects.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Latest accounting rules and regulations of foreign funded projects and having experience of handling financial management softwares.

•    Should have good rapport with Banks regulations and various Governing Authorities.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

4.    Director Technical/ Hydropower (1 Post). Age: (Min: 37 Max: 55 years). Pay and Allowances of BS-19 Qualification. Experience. Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

■    General Experience of 15 years in planning, design, construction supervision and monitoring of Civil Engineering Projects or Hydro Power Projects on rivers and canals including 5 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    FIDIC/ World Bank/ ADB Contract conditions/ guidelines.

•    Latest Engineering codes of practice and related softwares.

•    Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA/ IEE) and Resettlement issues relating to Hydro Power Projects.

■    Only Irrigation Department Officers can compete.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

5.    Deputy Director Monitoring & Evaluation (1 post). Age: (Min: 32 Max: 50 years). Pay Rs. 83,912/- (lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-18 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience. Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Civil Engineering from a recognized University.

■    General experience of 10 years of construction management. Monitoring/ evaluation of large projects including 3 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Construction Methodology and sequence of construction of structures like Spillways, Head regulators, Falls, Bridges and other Hydraulic Structures on rivers/ large canals or Hydro Power Projects.

•    Latest Engineering codes of practice and related softwares.

•    Project planning tools/ softwares and monitoring of large projects.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

6.    Deputy Director (Generator & Electrical Works) (1 Post). Age: (Min: 32 Max: 50 years). Pay Rs. 83,912/-(lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-18 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Electrical Engineering from recognized university.

■    General experience of 10 years of designing or erection/ installation or operation of Generators and associated Electrical equipment including 3 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Construction supervision, operation and maintenance of substations and allied systems:

•    Selection of generators and oontrol.

•    Latest Engineering codes of practice and related software.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

7.    Deputy Director (Hydraulic Structures) (1 Post). Age: (Min: 32 Max: 50 years). Pay and Allowances of BS-18

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Civil Engineering from recognized University.

■    General Experience of 10 years of planning and designs of Irrigation Systems, construction of Spillways. Head regulators, Falls, Bridges or other Hydraulic Structures on rivers/ large canals or Hydro Power Projects including 3 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Latest Engineering codes of practice and related softwares.

■    Only Irrigation Department Officers can compete.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

8.    Deputy Director (Turbine & Mechanical Works) (1 Post). Age: (Min: 32 Max: 50 years). Pay Rs. 83,912/-(lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-18 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from recognized university.

■    General Experience of 10 years of designing or erection/ installation or operation of hydro turbines or Mechanical equipments and steel structures Including 3 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Manufacturing, erection/ installation and maintenance/ repairs of steel gates on barrages/ large canals. Head Regulators and spillways.

•    Selection of Hydro Turbines and associated Hydro-Mechanical equipment.

•    Latest Engineering codes of practice and related softwares.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

9.    Deputy Director (Projects) (1 Post). Age: (Min: 32 Max: 50 years). Pay and Allowances of BS-18 Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Civil Engineering from a recognized University.

■    General experience of 10 years of planning or construction supervision of Spillways or Head regulators-Falls Bridges and other Hydraulic Structures on rivers/ large canals including 3 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Latest Engineering codes of practice and related softwares.

•    Project planning tools/ softwares and monitoring of projects.

■    Only Irrigation Department Officers can compete.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

10.    Accounts Officer (1 Post). Age: (Min: 28 Max: 50 years). Pay Rs. 69,118/- (lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-17 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Com. from recognized university with at least 2nd division.

■    General experience of 07 year in Accounts of public and/ or private sector projects in capacity of Accounts Officer including 2 years relevant experience of handling accounts matters of foreign funded/ ADB projects.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Account matters of Government organizations International Accounting Standards of Budget & Accounts.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

11.    Assistant Director Construction Planning (1 Post). Age: (Min: 28 Max: 45 years). Pay Rs. 69,118/- (lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-17 (for appointment by transfer)

Qualification, Experience, Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Civil Engineering degree from a recognized university.

■    Experience of 5 years of construction supervision planning, master programming and Unit rate analysis/ costing of large Civil Engineering or Hydro Power Projects.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Planning software of P-3/ P-5 or M.S. project, etc.

•    AutoCAD to compute the B.O.Q.

■    Domicile of Punjab.

12.    Assistant Director/ Senior Inspector Civil (1 Post). Age: (Min: 28 Max: 45 years). Pay Rs. 69,118/- (lump sum) per month with 10% annual increment (for contract employee) or pay and allowances of BS-17 (for appointment by transfer).

Qualification, Experience. Domicile and Eligibility:

■    B.Sc. Civil Engineering from a recognized University.

■    General experience of 5 years in Construction Supervision of civil works including 2 years relevant experience. Or Associate Diploma in Civil Technology from recognized Board with 15 years general experience including 5 years relevant experience.

■    Preference will be given to candidates having experience of:

•    Knowledge of project planning tools/ softwares and monitoring of large projects.

■    Domicile of Punjab. NOTE:

5.    Only short listed candidates will be called for the Test/ Interview.

6.    Candidates presently working in Government. Semi-Government and autonomous bodies should send their applications through proper channel.

7.    These appointments will be made purely on contract basis for a period as decided by the Competent Authority or till the completion of the project.

8.    The last date for submission of application is 12-12-2014.

9.    The Competent Authority reserves the right to enhance or reduce the number of posts or may reject any application if it considers so.
