The Ministry of Interior has officially declared the resumption of Family visa applications under revised conditions, effective from Sunday, January 28th. This decision aligns with the directives of Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, who serves as the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior.
The reopening of Family visa applications is accompanied by the release of Ministerial Resolution No. 56 of 2024. This resolution introduces updated conditions and controls for the issuance of entry visas to join family members in Kuwait.
To qualify, individuals must now meet specific criteria: a minimum salary of 800 KD, possession of university qualifications, and consideration of the applicant’s profession in the country.
These measures aim to ensure a more stringent evaluation process for Family visa applications.
The decision to resume family visas is a welcome relief for numerous expatriate workers in Kuwait, eagerly anticipating reunification with their loved ones. Notably, the Ministry of Interior will commence accepting applications at residency affairs departments nationwide, adhering to the new controls and conditions delineated in the ministerial resolution.
