The original AirPods Pro now have adaptive transparency thanks to iOS 16.1 beta.
Owners of the first-generation AirPods Pro with the AirPods beta software will now notice a “Adaptive Transparency” toggle in the Settings app’s AirPods section, as was mentioned on Reddit. To view the setting, you must have the beta firmware for the 5A304A.
Adaptive Transparency was introduced by Apple with the AirPods Pro 2. It is intended to enable the AirPods to muffle strong sounds like sirens, construction equipment, or loud concert speakers without muzzling all other noise.
It is currently unclear how Adaptive Transparency with the H1 chip in the original AirPods Pro works in compared to the updated H2 chip in the AirPods Pro 2.
