Usman Arshad of Pakistan travels by foot to Mecca to do the Hajj in 2023.
Usman Arshad, a pilgrim from Pakistan, has travelled more than a tenth of the 5,400 kilometres it would take him to reach Makkah in time for the Hajj next year since beginning his trek earlier this month.
Usman Arshad will complete the Hajj in Makkah in 7 months after walking 5,400 kilometres.
The 25-year-old set off on his adventure from his village of Okara in the Punjab region and intends to pass through five nations before reaching Makkah with just packing a tiny rucksack, an umbrella, and a pair of hiking shoes.
Arshad originally considered walking to Makkah last year, when he completed a 1,270-kilometer journey over 34 days from Okara to the Khunjerab Pass on the China border.
Notably, after 11 months of trekking on foot, 59-year-old British Muslim Adam Muhammad completed the Hajj in Makkah in June of this year.
