The minister announced, “We have got an alert concerning a jet, a private trip from Mexico to the airport.”
According to Torres in a video statement made public by his government, “This aircraft was carrying five people of German nationality.”
We quickly launched the internal process to find the aircraft when it lost contact with the control tower near La Barra de Parismina in the Costa Rican Caribbean, the official added.
He further mentioned that the jet vanished about 6:00 pm (Saturday 0000 GMT).
The search was put on hold after a few hours because of dusk and “poor weather,” but it will resume on Saturday, the minister announced.
