Govt to Build ‘Sora Dam’ Worth Rs 8 Billion in South Punjab
In order to retain rainwater in the hill torrent area of DG Khan, development on the Sorra dam project will begin in December of this year. The project is expected to cost roughly Rs 8 billion.
The programme to conserve water is being launched by the Punjab government, according to an official source in the project management office, Barrages, who also said that 10,000 acres of land would be irrigated by it.
While the provincial government will be responsible for the project’s construction costs, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has offered funding for project planning.
