Few students in Pakistan, particularly those who come from regional examination boards, can afford the luxury of attending higher education.

I felt a great deal of pressure for my undergraduate admissions after graduating from Habib Girls’ School with my intermediate degree, especially given the financial strain my family would experience as a result of my study.

The last thing I wanted to do was put my family under financial stress to pay for my higher education after my father’s early death left my mother to raise my three girls all by herself.

I learned about the HU TOPS scholarship at that time, and even though I didn’t think I would be chosen, I nevertheless submitted an application.

A merit-based, 100% scholarship programme called Habib University HU TOPS provides 50+ exceptionally talented and deserving candidates from regional examination boards with a complete tuition price remission for the whole four years of their undergraduate studies.

I vividly recall my mother’s pleasure, her complete disbelief, and the joyful tears she shed the day I received my admission letter from Habib University. One of my greatest and proudest accomplishments is and always will be the Habib University HU TOPS Scholarship in Pakistan.

Habib has helped me develop holistically as a thoughtful and caring person, in addition to cognitively and academically. Today, I have the honour of studying with the best teachers Pakistan has to offer, together with the most intelligent people of my generation.

Even though I am majoring in social development and policy, Habib’s multidisciplinary curriculum has given me the freedom to pursue my other interests outside of my primary subject of study, such as philosophy, music, and environmental sciences.

The Habib University student body is one of the most varied and pluralistic among those at other private colleges as a result of the HU TOPS scholarship programmes.

In addition, I had the good fortune to spend a semester on exchange at the University of California, Berkeley, which I would not have been able to do without the ongoing assistance from my institute.

Habib takes great satisfaction in being a locally owned organisation. By giving us access to a top-notch education, the university’s Mohsineen have improved the lives of hundreds of students like myself.

Their unparalleled generosity and ongoing support for the HU TOPS programme have given me access to a wide range of activities, helped me get through the most difficult period of my life, and have significantly motivated me to volunteer and give back to my community.
