In a new attack on the CEC, the PTI chairman referred to Sikandar Sultan as a “servant” of the Sharif family. After a difficult verdict, the outspoken lawmaker said that the CEC called into question his dignity and honesty.
He went on to threaten that he would take CEC to court to prevent him from doing similar things in the future. On the fourth day of the lengthy march, he can be heard telling workers, “No one is permitted to harm anyone’s reputation because of someone else’s directions.”
Previously, the former governing party petitioned the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) to have Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja removed, claiming that he is biassed in favour of other political parties.
Mr Sikandar was known to have ‘malice towards their party,’ according to Imran Khan’s party, and CEC lost sight of the pledge [he] took.
The development comes only weeks after the Election Commission of Pakistan barred the cricketer-turned-politician from membership in the National Assembly under Article 63(1)(p) in the Toshakhana (gift depository) issue.
