The Karachi Biennale’s third edition was inaugurated earlier today at NJV School during an inaugural ceremony. This event is a citywide exhibition of art. The Karachi Biennale Trust’s Patrons and Trustees, Ghias Khan, CEO of Engro Corporation Limited, artists, art experts, notable residents, and other sponsors and partners of KB22 all attended the ceremony.

The judges revealed the recipients of three awards. Bilal Jabbar received the KB22 Engro Emerging Artist Award. The UK’s Invisible Flock won the KB22 Engro Juried Art Prize. The recipient of the KB22 Lifetime Achievement Award has been named as Mussarat Mirza (Pakistan).

The event was attended by more than 300 people from all across the city, the nation, and even abroad. The artworks on show attracted a large audience of artists, art aficionados, professionals, notable citizens, diplomats, and business executives.

Additionally, attendees got the option to experience literature and indigenous music in exhibitions by Dennis Rudolph (Germany) and KCR Studio (Pakistan), as well as learn about Pakistan’s ecological issues through a bike ride in an installation made by the Yasir Darya (Pakistan). All of the attendees had a fantastic evening that brought together people of all ages, ethnicities, and origins. The audience was completely engrossed in the immersive experience of Amin Gulgee’s artwork, Memory chamber.

It should be emphasised that KB22 will examine the nexus between art and technology and present fascinating and immersive work by artists from 13 various nations, including Pakistan. It will occur at 9 locations in Karachi from October 31 to November 13th.
