There is significant potential for defence and maritime security cooperation between Pakistan and Oman: Colonel Bajwa
RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: On Tuesday, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Pakistan, His Excellency Dr. Al Sheikh Mohammed Omar Ahmed Al Marhoon, met at the Pakistani Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
The discussion covered topics of shared interest, the security situation in the region, and partnerships in various industries.

The COAS stated that Pakistan values its kinship ties with the Gulf States and that relations between Pakistan and Oman are warm, cordial, and close-knit.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa further stated that our strategic partnership may be strengthened by the two countries’ strong potential for collaboration in the fields of marine security and defence.
The Omani envoy conveyed his sorrow over the destruction brought on by Pakistan’s floods and extended his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased.
The dignitary expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s efforts to maintain regional stability and promised to play a part in advancing diplomatic ties with Pakistan on all fronts.
